Spirituality is not Wimpy

It is true that there is a part of us that feels rightfully good in having a sense of our own power. Being spiritual isn’t like walking about being a wimp. Jesus Christ was a very, very powerful person and very, very confident in his power. So was Mohammed. So were all the great spiritual, religious Teachers.

In fact, precisely because of that power, because of that sense of their own strength, and deeper contact with something else, and possession of ‘true substance’ in themselves, they could subject themselves to things that shock us. They could die if need be to serve in all kinds of ways, to deliver meaning and a higher impulse to people. In the case of Christ his death delivered the impulse of Love and what that’s about: what unites us, instead of what separates us and divides us and keeps us at war with each other.

Using this Site

Engage and Explore. To get a taste of variety of the scope and breadth of what we do and the teachings we offer, look under the Teachings menu. Our collections of articles and quotes offer a little bit of everything, ranging from hearty to heady, soothing to stingers, clarifying to perhaps confusing at first, brief to lengthy. If you want to get involved in some way look under the Take Part menu. This section is all about things you can do. You can take a class, volunteer, learn about internships, make a donation, and so on. If you want to learn more about who we are and our learning centers, look under Meet Us. If you are enrolled in an online course, you can access it through the My Courses menu at the far top right.

How the Subtle Enters

The subtle enters through the things in us that are like the subtle, one of them being quiet, one of them being calm. Thus, it is essential to cultivate those aspects and atmospheres, becoming like a clear, still lake that can truly reflect reality and that welcomes you into its depths.

Contact Us

You can email us at [email protected]. Please understand that we are a modest endeavor staffed entirely by busy volunteers and largely funded by donations. Additionally, we live in a remote location with limited bandwidth. (Really, in this day and age, there still is such a thing as limited bandwidth where streaming data is a bad idea.) This means it may take us a while to respond to your query, but we will get back to you.   logo-nicer-2014-2.png
