Engage and Explore. To get a taste of variety of the scope and breadth of what we do and the teachings we offer, look under the Teachings menu. Our collections of articles and quotes offer a little bit of everything, ranging from hearty to heady, soothing to stingers, clarifying to perhaps confusing at first, brief to lengthy. Eating as an Ablution

When a student observed that there was a purity to the teacher’s approach to food – how it is served, how it is eaten – the teacher responded:

It’s like doing an ablution. Ablution reminds you of the specialness and sacredness of life – what you do before you go into a special space to receive. Meals should be approached that way. Approach eating as a cleansing process in terms of set-up for it so that you can receive the bounty of the universe and the sacredness of life, of creation, of the gift of it. And in real spiritual development, purity is a bodily experience.
